What:

Suck My Flick is a screening of short movies that are submit at sign-up time (7:00 PM). we will give a trophy to the filmmaker who’s movie received the most votes from the audience. We supply the space, the Projector, and a place to buy beer. The event is FREE to enter and FREE to watch.

Submitting Your Movie

Submissions happen the night of the screening.

Bring your movies as a Quick Time (.mov), no larger than 720p, Codecs can be Photo Jpeg/Motion Jpeg or H.264. Please bring on a  Thumb drive or hard drive. Films must be 10 Minutes or less re recommend no longer than 7 minutes. If you give us a DVD don’t spend time on fancy DVD menus because no one will see them.

WARNING!

Credits on your movies may get cut. The Bar closes at 12. So, we only have a couple hours to show the movies and give out our trophy. It is not uncommon that we get slammed with submissions and to save time by stopping peoples movies before the credits.

Your Movies may not play correctly. This type of show is based on pretty new technology and we are doing our best to work out the kinks. That being said 90% of the movies play with out a hitch. To help us out, give us all the details about your movie when you submit. For example, Let us know your movie is 720, what codec you used, and what you edit on and compressed with.

Known issues with play back.

Final Cut 5 exports will be choppy. = use compressor to convert your movie to a .MOV with a h.264 codec.

AVI,  because of the nature of Windows vs Mac some AVIs don’t play.  = export to MP4 or M4V using Handbreake.

The Submitter must be present during the showing. If a Submitter leaves early and they win, the award will be passed on to the next person.

SUCK MY FLICK AWARD

This award includes your film featured on PORTLANDFILM.ORG, a bio, and a photo of you and your very own suckubus trophy.

All award winners will be eligible to win the SUCK MY FLICK BEST FILMMAKER OF THE YEAR honor.
