THE STAYOVER
Feb 20th
The Stayover is a short made by The Makeshift Contraption. It was based on a real event that happend to one of the members of the group.
We got a member of the group, Dusty McCord to answer some questions about the project.
how was this shot?
We used a Panasonic DVX-100A with a 16×9 animorphic adapter screwed on to the front of it. We have a skateboard dolly and some PVC pipe that we mounted the camera to.
We also used a polaroid camera that we found at good will.
How long did it take you to make the project?
It was written in a day. Shot on a sunday in under 4 hours and we spent the next 8 hours screwing around with the footage. However, we did have a finished product by the end of the day.
What was your budget?
I think we spend $40 on craft serves and $6 on the mini dv take.
Crew size?
there were 3 people on crew. The guy who plays the ex-boy friend is the writer and is also directed this one.
What did edit on?
We edited the footage on Final Cut Pro and did the Polaroid transitioning into live action with apple’s Shake.

PDXCC.NET is a great event calender for cultural events happening around the portland area. They list the events plus sell tickets. They describe them selves on their about page as
“Film Action Oregon (FAO) and Box Office Tickets Inc. (BOT) have teamed up to create the PDX Ticket Network, a new community box office solution for Portland area organizations.
Now, all kinds of local Portland organizations can sell tickets over the Internet and offer their patrons walk-up services 7 days a week, through the FAO-staffed office at the Hollywood Theatre – all at no cost to their organization!
Initially funded in part by FAO and BOT, the new ticketing and networking services enable the local Portland community to provide more convenient services to their patrons – while saving money, maintaining greater control over their ticketing, and working together to share marketing efforts and sell more tickets.”
